**Introduction

Part of Nature is a small scale traditional tannery. We specialise in working with locally sourced tree bark to create a range of ethical leathers, sheepskins and pelts. It is our passion to create highly functional, non-toxic materials and carry on a traditional craft skill. We can provide leather for a variety of contemporary and historical uses.

Our use of traditional tanning methods means our products can be made to match the specific properties of materials used in various hand crafted objects, for example spinning wheels, drums, illuminated manuscripts, sheaves, shoes, bags and many other items. Please reach out to discuss your needs to mend a heirloom or create a reproduction or other unique project.

Sharing traditional tanning craft We see a lot of joy in working with our hands. And it is an honour to practice this traditional craft. Our process is low on mechanisation, the hands-on knowledge that we carry is easily shared with little equipment through courses, one to one tuition and events.
